YOLANDA OF MEXICO

Artist Sheila Carey researched and found that "Yolanda" is Spanish for Violet---Carey's favorite color and the inspiration for Yolanda's dress. Our senorita gazes out over a swirling turquoise sea, her thoughts known only to herself.

This oil painting is #3 in Carey's Femme series; the collection, when completed, will depict 10 women by the sea, each from a different country.
